I started to learn to DJ back in 1996 when I had my first set of decks, I’ve always loved and had a passion for music and I wanted to teach myself how to play. It took me three months to pull of my first mix which then gave me an even bigger buzz to learn more.
My first playout was for The Mutts Nutz and Shuffle Boat Party in Worcester which were great and they had that underground vibe to them. After years of dedication and building my name throughout the country, Playing at many of the UK’s finest clubs I had a big break in 99 when I entered the “Vestax Mixing Championships” and won the Wales and west heat that earnt me a place in the final. The Finals were featured in the Sky documentary “Cream”, Paul Hillier won the title but my success in getting this far paved the way to take my career even further.
I’ve played at many of the big clubs around the country Escape (Swansea) Dance Academy (Plymouth) Evolution (Cardiff) Candy store (Plymouth) The Tube (Halifax) Naughty but Nice (Hereford) Tranzactionuk (truro) to name a few but too many to list and I also held a residency at Tranzactionuk for over five years as well as playing over sea’s in Japan, and Kuala Lumpur Malaysia and a lifetime achievement of being nominated “Mixmag Future Hero”.
I have played alongside many DJ’s over the years such as Mauro Picotto, Lisa Lashes, Anne Savage, Lisa Pin-up, Judge Jules, Cally and Juice, Mark EG, Yoji Biomenhanika, Proteus, Eddie Haliwell, Alex Kidd, Tidy Boys to name a few.
Back last year I went into the studio with”Dark by Design” (Gaz West) and produced two tracks with him, “Go away and Stand Tall” which were then brought out on the newly formed Label “Tranzactionuk Recordings” in February 2005 and Lisa Pin-up Featured “Go Away on the “Hard House Anthems 6” Album.
I am very interested in music production and took time out last year and finished my 5 year residency with Tranzactionuk to concentrate on the production side. I’ve spent the last year learning about music production and putting my knowledge into action. I’ve got 4 tracks that I have finished and one I am in the middle of at the moment. I’ve had my break and now I’m ready and totally refreshed personally and musically to get back behind the decks. I think everyone needs to take time out at some point, to step back and look at things from a different point of view and find themselves, That’s what I have done and now I’m back and ready for it.
